1. Who We Are
ThisSimple ("we", "our", "us") is a text simplification and humanization tool available at thissimple.app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
2. What Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account: your email address and password (stored as a secure hash). We never store plain-text passwords.
Usage Data
We track how many rewrites you use per day to enforce the free tier limit. This is a simple count — we do not log the content of your rewrites.
Saved Library Items
If you explicitly save a rewrite to your Personal Library, that content is stored in your account. You can delete it at any time.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a subscription status (active/cancelled) and a Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full payment details.
3. How We Use Your Data

- → To process your subscription and send payment confirmations
- → To send transactional emails (welcome, payment receipts, Pro reminders)
- → To detect and prevent abuse, bots, and fraudulent activity
4. Your Text Content
Text you paste into the rewrite tool is sent to OpenAI's API to generate the rewrite. This text is not stored on our servers and is not used to train AI models. OpenAI processes the request and returns the result — the input text is discarded after processing. We have configured our OpenAI API usage to opt out of data training.
5. Third-Party Services
Supabase — Authentication and database. Your account data is stored in Supabase's secure infrastructure with row-level security policies.
OpenAI — AI processing. Text submitted for rewriting is processed by OpenAI's API. See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
Stripe — Payment processing. All payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI DSS compliance. See stripe.com/privacy.
Resend — Transactional email delivery. Your email address is used to send account-related emails only.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and saved library items are deleted within 30 days. Usage count data (a number, not content) may be retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- → Access the personal data we hold about you
- → Request correction of inaccurate data
- → Request deletion of your account and data
- → Object to or restrict certain processing
- → Data portability (export your saved library)

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication (session management). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage is used to track the free rewrite count for non-logged-in users.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
